ESU-Millersville Men's Soccer

 

MILLERSVILLE - East Stroudsburg University won its 18th straight Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference men's soccer game and fifth this season by beating Millersville, 2-0, Saturday.

The Warriors, ranked 17th in the latest NCAA Division II national poll, raised their overall record to 12-2-1. They will play host to West Chester Wednesday and Shippensburg on Super Soccer Sunday Oct. 22 for their final two home games.

A brother combination accounted for ESU's first goal with Karl Nusshag slotting a shot into the near post from six yards out after pass from Kurt Nusshag. It came with 16:47 left in the first half.

The Warriors clung to the 1-0 advantage until Chris Pinto made a game-clinching goal with 2:55 left. He booted in a shot from just inside the box after taking a pass from Jorge Chapoy.

Goalie Jason Land made three saves in posting his third straight shutout and fifth of the season.
