ESU-Lock Haven Men's Soccer

EAST STROUDSBURG - Joey Piscopo headed in a goal with 1:39 gone in overtime to give East Stroudsburg University a 3-2 victory over Lock Haven in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference men's soccer game Wednesday.

It was the 17th straight PSAC victory over three seasons for the Warriors, who are now 11-2-1 overall and 4-0 in the conference. Lock Haven fell to 7-3-1 overall and 4-1-1 in PSAC play.

Ryan Hepford started the winning play as he made a cross from the right side. Goalie Paul Maguire just got his hand on the ball and deflected it to his right and Piscopo was there, lowered his head and knocked it in.

The Warriors appeared to have the game won in regulation before Lock Haven scored with less than seven minutes remaining on sweeper back Morten Brorby's shot from 18 yards out after a cross from John Schumann.

The Bald Eagles had taken a 1-0 lead 21 minutes into the game as Rob Battisson booted a long free kick to Joe Kadeski, who flicked a header into the right corner. It was the first goal allowed by ESU in the first half this season.

The Warriors tied the score with 11 minutes left in the first half. Mike Lotocki rifled a shot from the outside and Tom Mustac deflected the ball into the left side of the nets.

Jorge Chapoy gave ESU a 2-1 lead with three minutes gone in the second half, scoring his 12th goal of the season. Troy Grubb took a long free kick and Maguire came out for the ball, but never got a handle on it. The ball squirted toward the goal to Chapoy, who pushed it into an open net.

ESU had a 9-6 edge in shots and winning goalie Conor Fry, a two-starter at Lock Haven before transferring to ESU, had to make only two saves.
