ESU-Felician Men's Basketball

EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University made 11 of its first 12 shots in the second half to break open the game in downing Felician College, 80-63, in men's basketball Thursday night.

The Warriors raised their record to 6-3, matching last year's entire victory total. Coach Mike Power's team will now have a three-week break before traveling to California, Pa. Jan. 6 for a 3 p.m. game. Felician is 5-4.

Ahead at halftime, 32-23, ESU scored 15 points in less than four minutes to surge ahead, 47-25, and had 28 points over seven minutes for a 60-34 advantage.

Shahad Abdur-Rahkman, R.C. Kehoe and Juwan Justice all had seven points and Wayne Bishop six during the surge with Mike Collins adding a final free throw. Bishop opened the half with a three-pointer and Rahkman followed with a steal and a jam and the Warriors were off and running.

Rahkman finished with a game and season-high 23 points. The 6-2 sophomore scored from all over the floor, making ten of 14 shots including three three-pointers in four tries.

Justice added 18 points and nine rebounds while Kehoe had 14 points and four assists and Bishop eight points and three assists.

Anthony Carey scored 20 points for Felician, a new NCAA Division II member from Lodi, N.J. Jerrell Jeffries contributed 14 and Ronaje Bethea ten.

For the game, the Warriors made 50 percent of their shots, 34 for 68, compared to the Golden Falcons' 36 percent mark, 25 for 58. ESU had a 37-32 rebounding edge.
