ESU-Lock Haven Men's Basketball
LOCK HAVEN - Freshman guard Justin Seitz recorded a game-high 22 points on eight-of-eight shooting from the field, and Lock Haven used a 31-2 first-half run en route to a 103-75 victory over East Stroudsburg University Monday night, giving first-year Lock Haven coach John Wilson his first collegiate head coaching win.
ESU (0-3) actually led the Bald Eagles18-14 with 13:08 remaining behind 12 points from sophomore sensation Juwan Justice, but Justice picked up his third foul and Lock Haven (1-1)went on a 31-2 run over the next 10 minutes to build a 47-20 lead. The Haven shot 84 percent (21-25) in the first half and outscored the Warriors 41-9 over the final 13:19 of the stanza to build a 55-27 lead at the break.
The second half was a much different story as ESU was able to play Lock Haven even, with both teams tallying 48 points in the final 20 minutes. Freshman Shahad Abdur Rahkman scored all of his team-high 18 points in the second half and also grabbed seven rebounds to give him a game-leading total of 10. Justice, who fouled out early in the second half, was the only other Warrior with double figures in scoring with 12.
Cyle Alden and Nick Miskar both recorded eight points for the Warriors, while Rob Smith and Quincy Henderson each registered seven apiece. Eleven of ESU's 12 players scored in the contest.
