ESU-Bloomsburg Men's Basketball

East Stroudsburg, Pa. - Bloomsburg placed six players in double figures and shot 67 percent from the floor in beating East Stroudsburg University, 89-75, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division men's basketball game Saturday night.

The Huskies sank 12 of their 14 shots in the game, including five 3-pointers , to surge ahead, 29-17. They opened the margin to 37-19 before ESU began a comeback which cut the lead to 52-40 at halftime.

Bloomsburg made 69 percent of its shots (20 for 29) and didn't cool off much in making 63 percent of its second half attempts (10 for 16).

The Warriors got within nine points in the second half at 70-61 with 8:08 left on seven straight points by Gabe Crowley. Bloomsburg then broke it open again with a 9-2 run to make it, 79-63, with five different players scoring. ESU never got closer than ten points the rest of the way.

Shawn Munford led the Huskies with 18 points with Seth Buckwalter contributing 14, Tom Barlow and Aaron Carter 13 apiece and Jay DeShields and Adam Bohman 12 each.

Crowley, returning to action after missing ten games because of a knee injury, poured in 29 points on 8 for 17 shooting from the floor, including two 3-pointers, and 11 for 12 from the line.

Juwan Justice added 14 points before fouling out with five minutes remaining while Mike Collins had 11 points and also fouled out with five minutes left.

The Huskies raised their record to 11-5 including 2-0 in the conference. ESU is now 8-8 overall and 2-1 in PSAC play.
