ESU-Shippensburg Women's Lacrosse

EAST STROUDSBURG - Kristin Restivo and the East Stroudsburg University team both set school records as the Warriors defeated Shippensburg, 14-9, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference women's lacrosse game Wednesday.

Restivo scored seven goals, matching her career high, to give her 58 goals of the season, breaking her own mark of 56 goals set last year. She is the NCAA Division II national leader in scoring.

The ESU team won a record tenth game in lifting its overall record to 10-3 and its PSAC mark to 3-2. It broke the mark of nine wins set by the 1998 squad, which finished 8-5. The team has two regular-season games remaining.

Restivo wasn't the only hero for Coach Sandy Miller's squad. Stephanie Wise had the biggest scoring game of her career with four goals and two assists. Megan Macauley added two goals and Kim Niles a key goal after Shippensburg had closed to within one goal at 8-7 in the second half. Kelly Lambert had three assists.

Goalie Kelly Wagner made 11 saves and the defensive backline of Colleen Birmingham, Andrea Demidont and Britt Huckaby held Shippensburg's high-scoring Kathleen Sheehan (46 goals coming into the game) and Keri Hopkins (41 goals) to two goals apiece.
