ESU's Vanessa Kraft, John Krimmel Honored

as Lehigh Valley Basketball Scholar-Athletes

 

EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University's Vanessa Kraft and John Krimmel were honored as Lehigh Valley Basketball Scholar-Athletes at the Lehigh Valley Basketball Media Luncheon Tuesday at Starter's Restaurant.

Each of the seven college division teams in the valley, Moravian, Muhlenberg, DeSales, ESU, Kutztown, Delaware Valley and Cedar Crest, selected scholar-athletes to be honored at the monthly luncheon.

Kraft is a sophomore from Royersford (Spring-Ford High School) majoring in History. She is the team's starting center and is averaging 8.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. She made the All-Tournament team at the 37th Rotary Pocono Classic.

Krimmel is a freshman from State College (State College High School) with a major in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management. He is now the team's starting shooting guard and scored 25 points in two games last weekend. He has made 56.7 percent of his shots (19 for 33) in seven games and is averaging 6.0 points per contest.

Other players honored were Wade Lewis and Lauren Snyder, Delaware Valley; Jeff Crawford and Amy Yencho, DeSales; Becky Savage and Walt Pinkas, Kutztown; Kelly McLeon and Willie Reynolds, Moravian; Lindsay St. Lawrence and Michael Barletta, Muhlenberg, and Camille Whyte, Cedar Crest.
