WEST CHESTER - Mike Zimorowicz pitched a four-hitter and Anthony Piazza belted two home runs as East Stroudsburg University downed West Chester, 11-2, in the opening game of a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference doubleheader Saturday.

The Golden Rams (7-23, 2-4 PSAC) took the second game, 10-1, as Jason McDevitt went 3 for 3 with a homer and two singles and drove in three runs.

Zimorowicz gave up only one earned run and that scored on a double play in winning his fifth game of the season against one defeat. He had hurled a no-hitter against Bloomsburg in his last start.

The sophomore righthander from Pittston struck out eight batters, including seven over the last three innings. He walked three.

Piazza hit a three-run homer over the scoreboard in leftfield in the fifth inning to put the Warriors (11-15, 3-5 PSAC) ahead, 8-1, and then hit a solo shot in the seventh inning. He went 3 for 4 with four runs-batted-in.

Matt Harmic had a solo homer, a towering shot over the centerfield fence, and a triple in four attempts and drove in two runs. Brett Reynolds singled in his first two at-bats to extend his hitting streak to seven straight, but then went out twice for a 2 for 4 game.

In the second contest, the Rams' Justin Konnick tossed a five-hitter, striking out five batters, and McDevitt provided all the offensive power needed.

The Rams went ahead, 2-1, on McDevitt's two-run homer in the second inning. They scored runs in the next five innings with seven different players contributing hits. Mike Welsh was 2 for 2.
