ESU-Millersville Baseball
MILLERSVILLE - Righthanders Mike Manning and Jason Bradley each allowed one run in pitching Millersville to a sweep over East Stroudsburg University, 6-1 and 9-1, in an opening Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader Wednesday.
Manning scattered nine hits in the opener with the only ESU run on Matt Harmic's solo homer in the top of the third inning. Bradley gave up only three hits over six innings in the second game with Eric Eckert retiring the side in order in the seventh.
The Marauders (13-4 with six straight wins) broke open the first game with five runs in the third inning. Three ESU errors prolonged the rally which featured Mike Petske's two-run double.
In the second contest, Millersville again had a five-run rally, this time in the fourth inning. Matt Knox accounted for four of the runs with a grand-slam homer over the leftfield fence.
The Warriors' only run came on Joe Sobeski's double in the fourth inning. ESU's record is now 8-10.
