Chosen On All-PSAC Men’s Soccer First Team

East Stroudsburg, Pa. – Four East Stroudsburg University players, sweeper back Sean Stewart, goalie Jason Land, forward Tom Mustac and midfielder Mike Lotocki, who led the Warriors to their fifth straight conference soccer title have been named to the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference first team.

Two other ESU booters, midfielder Kamar Samuels and back Kurt Nusshag, were second team choices. A total of 26 players, 13 on the first team and 13 on the second, were honored in a balloting of the nine conference head coaches.

Coach Jerry Sheska’s ESU team has posted a 16-4-1 record and will play a NCAA Division II Soccer Tournament first-round contest at Dowling Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Warriors beat California, 2-1, in the PSAC championship game for their 15th league title overall and ninth in ten years.

Stewart, a junior from St. Elizabeth, Jamaica (Munro College), was chosen on the All-Conference first team for the third straight year while Land, a senior from Carney’s Point, N.J. (St. James), was a second time selection. They.were the heart of an ESU defense which allowed only 21 goals in 21 games.

"Sean has great skills and an excellent tactical sense of the game. "He is our leader on the field," Sheska commented.

‘Jason is one of the hardest workers we’ve ever had at ESU and has been the starting goalie in four straight PSAC championship games. He has comes with big saves for us and leads the conference statistics (0.94 goals per game with 7.5 shutouts)," the coach continued.

Mustac, a junior from West Milford, N.J. (Clifton High School), was selected on the All-PSAC second team last year, while Lotocki, a junior from Langhorne, Pa. (Neshaminy High School), is being honored for the first time. They led the team’s offense with Mustac scoring 14 goals and getting eight assists and Lotocki contributing eight goals and six assists.

"Tom stepped up on offense for us this season after the loss of Jorge (Chapoy, last year’s leading scorer). He is a talented and smart player who either finds a way to score a goal or make a great passes to enable one of his teammates to score," Sheska said.

"Mike worked endlessly on his game during the off-season. He has made himself into a real attacking threat from an outside midfield position. He has scored numerous big goals for us," the coach explained.

Nusshag, a senior from Media (Penncrest High School), was a repeat selection on the second team. Samuels, a sophomore from St. Elizabeth, Jamaica (Munro College), made the All-PSAC list for the first time.
