ESU’s Restivo Makes All-PSAC Lacrosse Team

EAST STROUDSBURG - Record-breaking East Stroudsburg University scorer Kristin Restivo has earned first team honors on the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Team.

Restivo is one of 13 players, six on offense, six on defense and a goal-keeper, selected in a vote of the conference’s seven head coaches.

Four other ESU players, second home Megan Macauley, attack wing Kim Niles, center Toni Lentz and cover point Andrea Demidont, were selected on the second team.

Restivo set an ESU season record with 56 goals, three more than the old mark of 53 set by Ann Clifton in 1986. She added 13 assists for a total of 69 points.

The junior from Westbury, N.Y. scored goals in all 13 games in leading the Warriors to an 8-5 record. Her single-game high was seven goals in a win over IUP. She was an All-County player for Carle Place High School.

Macauley, a junior from Doylestown, was second on the team in scoring with 28 goals and 19 assists for 47 points while Niles, a sophomore from New Britain, was next with 25 goals and 13 assists for 38 points. They were teammates at Central Bucks West High School.

Lentz, a senior from Norristown and Mechacton High School, was the team’s starting cetner and added 11 goals and three assistss. Demidont, a junior from Somerset and Souderton High School, was considered the squad’s top defensive player and usually drew the defensive assignment on the opponent’s leading scorer.

Restivo was the PSAC Rookie of the Year two years ago, but played in only three games last year before being sidelined by an injury. Macauley and Lentz both were All-Conference first team selections last season.

Teri Minzola, who led West Chester to its eighth straight PSAC lacrosse title, repeated as the PSAC Player of the Year. Goalie Yoshanda Wisher of Bloomsburg was named the top rookie and the Huskies’ Kathy Frick, whose team finished second in the conference, received Coach of the Year Honors.
